LCE's 1st and 2nd grade teams met with the 1st grade teams from PCR and PCY to develop and draft a proposal for a late-start schedule at the beginning of the 16-17 school year in order to accommodate beginning of the year diagnostic testing. Second Grade at LCE met and reviewed the 3rd Quarter Report Card. They discussed the topics that have already been covered. They also reviewed the 3rd Math Assessment and selected the fraction problems that would be good to add to the assessment. They went over the Science and Social Studies curriculum for 4th Quarter. Second Grade also listened in on the 1st Grade's proposal for a late-start alternative schedule for the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year. They believe that it would be very beneficial to test the students during that early bird time and using the Fountas and Pinnell assessment program as well as other assessments.
The third grade teams from all three schools met to look at Everyday Math. 3rd grade teacher Deborah Pruden showed the team many of the components, led them through a sample lesson, and showed them the technology piece that is part of the program.
